Our focus lies in developing innovative software tailored specifically for mining companies, with the primary aim of facilitating the process of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.

Gomez Pardo Foundation

Fundación Gómez Pardo (FGP) is a private, non-lucrative Spanish company founded in 1875, intending to establish laboratories, awards and grants, promote technical progress and research, and provide social and cultural assistance.

Nowadays it is intended for education, technical research and cultural activities. FGP emphasizes promoting technical progress, research and assisting in training, and professional development of mining school students and, in general, technicians and professionals dedicated to the mentioned sectors.

Currently, FGP manages their research laboratories (construction materials, petrochemical and metallurgy) and the student’s residence located in Madrid, and supports the student’s development through the delivery of courses and publications related to mining.

Role in the project

FGP is coordinating the project and is leading the RIS network creation in the South of Spain for software commercialization. FGP is the main promotor of the project idea. They have detected a market niche with a specific demand and boosted the project by looking for a business opportunity.

AICRUM IT s.l.

AICRUM IT (AIC) is an ICT-based SME located in Murcia (Spain). Their portfolio includes software development of turn-key products. AIC is specialised in the innovative projects in the markets such as A.I. and Decision Support Systems (e.g. for Emergency Management), Big Data, Machine Learning and Data analytics (e.g. for Green Transport), Internet of Things at the Edge (e.g. for Tourism/Hotels), Immersive experience with Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality (e.g. for Manufacturing, Construction, Tourism, Education and eHealth), Geospatial data (e.g. for AgriFood) and Development of websites, portals and mobile apps.

The company has strong experience in International cooperation with Latin America and Mediterranean partner countries.

Role in the project

AIC is leading the technical aspects of the project and is supportting the coordinator in the decision-making processes, and the project monitoring. They are in charge of the development of the back-end and will lead the verification and validation testing activities to ensure the final system covers the specified requirements. AIC will contribute to the definition of the Business Models and Commercialisation Plan.

Marble, Stone and Materials Technological Center

Asociación Empresarial de Investigación Centro Tecnológico del Mármol, Piedra y Materiales (CTM) is located in Cehegín, Northwest of Murcia Region (Spain). It was created in 1996 as a National Research Business Association to offer an enclave for the regional provision of services necessary for technological development and innovative companies in the sector of marble and stone and, since 2010, in the construction sector.

Nowadays, the number of companies associated with the CTM is 60, mainly quarry owners, and factories and construction companies across Spain, involving chemicals, architects, engineers, mining engineers, geologists, telecommunication engineers, etc.

CTM’s main areas of activity are Training, Technical Advisory (Research, Development and Innovation), Quality (Information and documentation), Laboratory, Architecture, sustainable construction and cultural heritage, Environment, Industrial Safety, Geology and Topology, and ICTs.

Role in the project

CTM is leading the Go-To-Matket Strategy and is supporting the content definition by identifying the particularities of quarry mining. CTM has a strong network around quarry mining, covering this kind of mining for market analysis and further commercialization.

Atalaya Riotinto Minera S.L.U

Atalaya Riotinto Minera S.L.U (ARM) is a Spanish subsidiary of the company Atalaya Mining plc, which is a European copper producer focused on providing society with the essential raw materials required for economic growth and the energy transition.

Atalaya Mining is a fast-growing AIM-listed mining and development company which produces copper concentrates at its wholly-owned Proyecto Riotinto site in southwest Spain.

Atalaya has assembled a portfolio of copper assets in Spain across several world-class mineral districts including the Iberian Pyrite Belt. These assets can leverage existing and modern infrastructure to accelerate development timelines and reduce capital costs.

Atalaya strives to become a leading multi-asset copper producer in Europe, maximizing the potential value of its current low-risk assets and developing new deposits.

Role in the project

ARM is participating in the project as an end-user. They are supporting the consortium in defining the needs of the customers and validate the software once it is delivered.

Sandfire MATSA

The Minas de Aguas Teñidas SAU (SMATSA) is located in the province of Huelva (Spain) and owns three underground mines in the municipalities of Almonaster la Real and Calañas. Their activity consists of the exploration and extraction of minerals and their treatment in a world-class processing plant, operating non-stop, 365 days a year.

As part of the international Sandfire Group, SMATSA operates in a responsible and safe manner to extract and produce quality ore concentrates, specifically copper, zinc, and lead ores.

Copper is a cornerstone of the global economy and a critical metal for global economic growth, vital to the construction and industrial sectors, and is increasingly important for its contribution to the decarbonization of the world.

Role in the project

SMATSA is participating in the project as an end-user. They are helping the consortium to define the needs of the customers and validate the software once it is delivered.

Marmoles MAM SL

MÁRMOLES MAM (MMAM) is a long-standing company with over 40 years of experience in stone and marble. They are specialised in the extraction of natural stone from their quarries and the various finishes, they sell and export their natural stones.

MMAM is very proud of its reputation and record over many years. Every aspect from the extraction of the natural stone to the desired finish, to the delivery and final sale of the stone they oversee every aspect from start to finish.

Role in the project

MMAM is participating in the project as an end-user. They will help the consortium to define the needs of the (quarry) customers and validate the software once it is delivered.

MMAM will be the (quarry) customer target for software commercialization.

RISCOGNITION

Riscognition (RRC) is a German SME focusing on data-driven information for better risk intelligence by providing novel access to EO-based (Earth Observation) information through industry-standard APIs (Application Programming Interface).

RRC is a geospatial data technology company specialising in the processing of EO imagery, the application of big data processes to location-based information and the transformation of datasets into actionable information for the risk management market.

The target customers are insurance companies, banks, investors, and associated industries.

Big data and AI are the technologies that are applied to disrupt today’s business processes.

Role in the project

RRC is leading the User Interface and Application Design, and is in charge of the development of the front-end, in particular the technical developments of deriving environmental indicators from satellite imagery. RRC will contribute to the definition of the Business Models and Commercialisation Plan.

Tarbes University of Technology

The Université de Technologie Tarbes Occitanie Pyrénées (UTTOP) is a new University of Technology, the 4th University of Technology in France, created in January 2024. It is the result of the merger of the National Engineering School of Tarbes (ENIT) and the University Institute of Technology (IUT) of Tarbes.

UTTOP aims to increase the range of education, research activity, and innovation in connection with the region and its companies, and to welcome new audiences and partners. UTTOP includes a research laboratory and the Production Engineering Laboratory, and is also present internationally through partnerships with more than 161 universities in 37 countries.

UTTOP’s educational offer includes the Bachelor’s University of Technology (e.g. Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction, and Business and Administration Management), Bachelor Cti, Professional Bachelor’s Degrees, and Engineering Degree (e.g. Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering).

Role in the project

As a company involved in the exploitation of the project results, UTTOP is contributing to the definition of the Business Models and Commercialisation Plan.
